Cheryl Celebrating Her Work Being Accepted By Ho Chi Minh Gallery

Cheryl was asked to be one of four Australian artists to join a group of sixty artists from nine countries to participate in a five-day cultural art exchange at the Saigon Kylong Arts Gallery in Ho Chi Min City

There were representatives from Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar and Norway

The first activity was to create a large full group painting (1.2m high x 4.5m). The theme of the group painting was “Friendship”. It was created from sixty 30 X 30 cm paintings Cheryl chose to paint a koala and cow as is used to plough the paddy fields and because it is the Chinese year of the pig she also painted a kangaroo carrying a pig in its pouch. These have now been collected by Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts the major gallery of Ho Chi Minh City.
