The art Gallery of SA was fortunate to hold an exhibition of Turners Work and Cheryl who knew he was one of her husbands favourite artists spent hours sitting in the gallery sketching “Burial at Sea” The security staff initially showed consternation which changed to interest and progressed to admiration when they saw the embroidered Waistcoat that Cheryl had made to celebrate and pay homage to this great artist.
Cheryl designed, drafted, and embroidered this garment, the embroidery alone has over 1,000,000 stitches and took over 100 hours to embroider on her domestic sewing machine.
