The new Arts and Heritage Hub of Lobethal, situated in the old Onkaparinga Woollen Mills is called ‘Fabrik’ being the German word for factory, or industrial facility. The new director Melinda Rankin, for her SALA exhibition chose to invite 18 Textile artists from SA who are leading textile artists.

My mark making involves varying hatched lines to create the illusion of landscape & form to bring my art to life. In this art work, the background stitching express the depth, textures, & rhythms of nature. The merging of the symbolic face and bird into the landscape communicates our human connection and stories

Symbolic embroidery traditional craft expresses contemporary feminism and beauty. Inspired by scribbly sketches in moving vehicle through Adelaide Hills or McLaren Vale to Goolwa. At night dreaming these colourful fantasy scapes & later referencing resultant more detailed drawings to create these thought provoking embroideries.
