Cheryl was one of 12 artists chosen to decorate shoes in support of the “Sole Purpose” Hutt St Centre fund raiser organised by Angela Carey (board member of  Hutt S Centre), Chris Penny (Chair of Contemporary Collectors AGSA), and Tom and Gia Warhurst of  RUN DNA.

Cheryl accompanied by Chris Burns (CEO of Hutt St Centre) went to ABC radio to be interviewed by Spence Denny. this initiative to help this initiative

The artists, included Aaron and Eddie who discovered their passion for art in Hutt St Centre’s Creative Hub, Sole Purpose transforms a pair of New Balance 624 sneakers into a one-of-a-kind artwork. 

Using techniques including shoe deconstruction, spray painting, and intricate fabric weaving, each pair has become a powerful expression of identity, resilience, and hope. 🙌 🧡

Bidding on the unique sneaker artworks is open until the end of September, with all proceeds helping provide essential support, healthcare and pathways out of homelessness for people seeking help at Hutt St Centre.
