In late 2010 Bernina arguably the maker of the best sewing machines in the world put out challenge to all sewers in Australia to produce an artwork on a sewing machine that would be placed on their new machine.

Cheryl took up the challenge and drew a design.

She then embroidered the final artwork

The finished Embroidery Cheryl called ‘Bernyta’ and Bernina chose it as the winner, and started making machines with Bernita on them
