Wombats in Australia National Conference Adelaide September 1994

In 1994 Cheryl was approached by the organisers of the National Conference on Wombats in Australia it was held in the Institute Building on Nth Terrace Adelaide in September 28th – October 12th 1994

The visual art section of the conference was opened by Ian McNamara from ABC Radio ‘Australia All Over’

Cheryl went to the Adelaide Zoo drew a wombat and decided to immortalise it in thread, she then sketched out 2 coats and wall piece.

Cheryl designed and created two wombat coats ‘Wombats  In The Bush’  and ‘Wombats Hiding’ and wall artwork ‘Wombat World’  This  national conference was dedicated to their biology, History, Art & Literature

All three were sold at the conference helping to raise $3,000 for the Royal Zoological Society of SA.
